Blackberry Festival Fly-In

September 1, 2012

Bremerton National Airport (KPWT)

Please check notams and get other airport info at:

Aircraft, Classic Cars and Top Fuel Dragsters on display on the flight line 9am - 3pm.

There will be many fun things to do and see at the airport as well as the downtown location.  Local car clubs and individuals will be showing their beautifully restored vintage cars.  Several military vehicles will be on display as well as private aircraft of all kinds including warbirds (privately owned), antiques, classics, contemporary and homebuilt, all of which will be competing for awards in their respective categories.

Getting to the airport and back is easy by way of a shuttle that operates from the upper deck of Transportation Center near the downtown location of the festival.  Fare is $2.00 each way, free for kids less than 8 years old.

If you have youngsters between the ages of 8 and 17 who would like a free airplane ride, bring them up!  The Bremerton Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapter through the Young Eagles program will get them hooked up with a local pilot who will take them for a tour of the local area and give them a taste of private flying.

We will have static displays of military aircraft provided by the service branches from around the Northwest including the Army, Navy and Coastguard.  There will be flyovers as well as formation flight demonstrations both at the airport and over the downtown festival location.

So plan to come to the airport and join the fun!  It’s all free (except for the shuttle) and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Questions about the airport activities can be directed to Jim Posner, president of the Bremerton Pilots Association at (415) 990-0664.
